Dersin Tanımı
(Course Description)
Yapı-malzeme–tasarım ilişkileri. Yapı malzemelerinin temel özellikleri. Bağlayıcı malzemeler, agregalar, beton, yapı taşları, seramik, cam, ahşap, plastik, metal, alçı, asbestli çimento, bitüm, kerpiç, boyalar ve koruyucular. İşlevsel yapı malzemeleri, ısı tutucu, ses tutucu-yutucu malzemeler. Su buhar yalıtım malzemeleri. Duvar çekirdeği ile iç-dış kaplamalar. Döşeme ve altlık malzemeleri, tavan kaplamaları. Çatı örtü malzemeleri. Malzeme Laboratuvarında mekanik/fiziksel deneyler, öğrencilerin, deney/analiz çalışmaları, malzeme arşivinde malzeme türlerini tanıma çalışmaları ve değerlendirmeler.
Relations among Building-Material-Design. Basic properties of building materials: binding materials, aggregates, concrete, building stones, ceramics, glass, wood, plastics, metal, gypsum, asbestos-cement, bitumen, adobe, paints and protecting materials. Functional building materials: Heat, water, water-vapour and acoustics insulating materials, construction wall materials, inside/outside wall coatings, flooring and sub flooring materials, ceiling/roof covering. Mechanical/physical experiments conducting in Laboratory, testing/analyzing, introducing building materials and general evaluation.
Dersin Amacı
(Course Objectives)

Bu dersin amacı:

  1. Mimari projenin tasarım ve uygulama evrelerinde ,tasarımın nesnel girdileri olan yapı malzemelerinin tasarımdaki işlevini, türlerini, özelliklerini, üretim ve uygulama, koşullarını, performanslarını değerlendirme becerisi kazandırmak,
  2. Yapı malzemeleri ve bileşenlerinin üretim, kullanım ve uygulamalarıyla ilgili ilke ve standartları anlama,
  3. Malzeme seçiminin tasarıma olan etkisinin kavranmasını sağlamak.
  4. Tasarımı etkileyen tüm çevresel ve insan davranışlarından gelen gerekliliklere yanıt verecek malzemem alternatiflerinden en uygun olanını seçme becerisi kazandırmak

Course aims:

  1. Acquisition of the ability to qualify in the design and application phases of architectural projects: the functions, types, properties, conditions of production and application, and the performance of materials as objective inputs of design,
  2. Understanding the principles and standards related to the production, use, and application of building materials and components,
  3. Comprehension of the influence of material selection on design,
  4. Acquisition of the ability to select the most proper material alternatives that will reply to all, environmental and human factors acting on the design.

Bu dersi başarıyla tamamlayan öğrenciler, aşağıdaki bilgi, beceri, ve yetkinlikleri kazanırlar:

  1. Yapı malzemeleri bilgisi ve malzeme uygulama becerisi,
  2. Teknik ve disiplinler arası iletişim becerisi,
  3. Sürdürülebilir tasarım becerisi,
  4. Çevresel sistemler bilgisi ve tasarıma aktarma becerisi,
  5. Bina kabuğu sistemleri bilgisi.
