(Course Description)
 
Concepts of sustainability and ecology; a timeline of human-environmental interactions; green buildings, ecological architecture; effects of the building/construction on environment, human performance and well- being: site, energy, water, materials, waste, community, life quality; physiological properties needed in the framework of interior space quality: climatic-visual comfort, ergonomics, sensory perception; recycle and reuse; sustainable design and assessment; design certification programs and evaluation instruments.
Dersin Amacı
(Course Objectives)

Bu dersin amacı;

  1. Sürdürülebilirlik, çevre ve ekoloji konuları ile ilgili bilgilenmek
  2. Temel teorik ve uygulamaya yönelik bilgiler ve örnekler aracılığıyla sürdürülebilirlik ile ilgili kişisel duyarlılığı ve farkındalığı geliştirmek
  3. Yapı elemanları ve sistemlerinin, insan performansı ve sağlığına etkileri ve iç mekan kalitesi bağlamında gereksinim duyulan fizyolojik özellikler ile ilgili bilgilenmek
  4. Sürdürülebilir tasarım sertifika programları ve değerlendirme araçları ile ilgili bilgilenmek
  5. Sürdürülebilirlik kavramını yorumlayarak iç mekan tasarımına aktarma ve ifade etme becerisini geliştirmek

Course aims;

  1. Informing about sustainability, environment and ecology issues
  2. Developing personal sensitivity and counsciousness on sustainability by means of main theoretical and applicational knowledge and examples 
  3. Informing about the effects of the building/construction on environment, human performance and well-being and physiological properties needed in the framework of interior space quality
  4. Informing about sustainable design certification programs and evaluation instruments
  5. Developing the ability of interpreting the concept of sustainability, transferring the interpretation to interior design and expressing

(Course Learning Outcomes)

Bu dersi başarı ile tamamlayan öğrenciler aşağıdaki bilgi, beceri ve yetkinlikleri kazanırlar:

  1. Sürdürülebilirlik, çevre ve ekoloji ile ilgili teorik ve uygulamaya yönelik bilgi
  2. Sürdürülebilirlik ile ilgili duyarlılık ve farkındalık
  3. Yapı elemanları ve sistemlerinin, insan performansı ve sağlığına etkileri ile ilgili bilgi
  4. İç mekan kalitesi bağlamında gereksinim duyulan fizyolojik özellikler ile ilgili bilgi
  5. Sürdürülebilir tasarım sertifika programları ve değerlendirme araçları ile ilgili bilgi 
  6.  Geri dönüşüm ve yeniden kullanımı tasarım kararlarında etken olarak ele alma becerisi
  7. Sürdürülebilirlik kavramını yorumlayarak iç mekan tasarımına aktarma ve ifade etme beceri ve yetkinligi

Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills and competencies;

  1. Theoretical and applicational knowledge about sustainability, environment and ecology
  2. Sensitivity and counsciousness on sustainability
  3. Knowledge about the effects of the building/construction on environment, human performance and well-being
  4. Knowledge about the physiological properties needed in the framework of interior space quality
  5. Knowledge about sustainable design certification programs and evaluation instruments
  6. Ability of considering recycle and reuse as a factor within design decisions
  7. Ability of and skill on interpreting the concept of sustainability, transferring the interpretation to interior design and expressing
